The sale of impressions from historical trees has been a longstanding practice, but why focus on selling unique trees when prints from ordinary trees can also be beautiful and in demand? It's not easy to find a truly unique tree near your home, let alone a felled one.

Idea and Creation of Tree Impressions

However, an artist from the United States proved that a tree doesn't have to be unique for its print to be bought. Living in a small American town called Hyrum, Bryan Nash Gill enjoyed wandering around his surroundings, where he began creating "impression-paintings" from broken trees. Roaming the forest, he searches for fallen or cut trees and turns them into impressions. Using special paint, he colors the tree slices and presses them onto paper, creating original prints.

Just like each tree is unique, each print is one-of-a-kind, capturing all the details precisely on paper. These prints can be used as interior decor, framed and hung on a wall or placed on a shelf in a cabinet.

Price and Earnings from Fallen Trees

The prices of these artworks are quite high, ranging from $35 to $150 depending on size. A $150 painting is huge, reaching up to 90 centimeters in diameter. You can purchase these unique pieces by the American artist on the online marketplace Etsy.

At first glance, one might think that no one would buy tree prints, but in reality, his works are popular and in demand. Judging by his recent sales statistics, he has sold around three thousand prints in a three-year period, averaging about two prints per day.

To create such a quantity of "impression-paintings," one doesn't need to exert much effort. With just an idea, creativity, and determination, one can produce up to ten of these works a day. This could potentially earn a substantial sum, around a hundred thousand dollars over three years.
