ARBITRATOR — (from Lat. arbiter) An independent, impartial person appointed to settle a dispute between two or more parties. In business and law, an arbitrator's decision is often legally binding. They are typically chosen by mutual consent of the disputing parties or appointed by an official arbitration tribunal to resolve conflicts outside of traditional courts.
